The Dogs of Washington Park

Washington Park was originally a cemetery dating from 1810 to 1855 before it was made into a park for the people of Cincinnati. Over time the park has gone through a lot of changes, but some historical features still remain including a cannon that dates back to the Civil War and two memorials from the late 1800s. The park is located in Over-the-Rhine, also known as "OTR". Originating as a port of entry for European immigrants, Over-the-Rhine was a German district that brought the European style of living and customs to the area. German style homes and churches were built along with popular businesses, such as breweries that are still influential in the city today.

Within the park there is a 12,000 square foot dog park that is a popular spot for the people of Cincinnati to relax while their dogs enjoy the water creek and spacious play area. This is a book of just some of the dogs that call Cincinnati and OTR their home.
